Truth can … help you cope?

And now for something a little lighter.

Sometimes we all need a little help to cope with everything life throws at us. Over the years I have developed different “theories” that help me cope. Theories that help me cope with the cultural differences of the countries I’ve lived in. Theories that help me understand why I do what I do and how to do it differently, better, more rooted in truth and covered in grace. And ultimately, reflecting the truth of Jesus that will bring wholeness to some aspect of life.

I call these theories because they are highly subjective opinions and observations, albeit built on objective truth found in the Bible. I hope you enjoy these “not-ready-for-prime-time” videos.

These videos and other “theories” (in video and text both) can be found on my FB page of the same name – “I have theories…they help me cope”

** A little about the photo above…

Something about these socks with those pants and the basic black shoes (in the photo) that just “worked” on some level for the lady that was wearing these recently here in Budapest.

Whether it was strictly a comfort call, all that was clean, or all that she even had…OR that she actually has a penchant for wild color combinations…who knows? But for her – it works.

Over the years I’ve sort of gathered in my mind similar “combinations”…thoughts, opinions and theories. I have theories that have evolved in response to observations, frustrations and just life.

But they have really become fully formed after gathering wisdom from others…hearing them, observing them, working through life with them. Then all those thoughts and musings turned into these theories that now I have about all sorts of areas of life.

I have theories..they help me cope. Like the sock / pant combo in the cover photo above, they may not work for everyone…but maybe they’ll help you cope, too? I hope so. At the very least, maybe they’ll make you smile like I did when I saw this lady’s outfit. That’s nice, too.
